Springsteen crew warned about over-sharing on social media

TORONTO — Musicians and crew members on the road with Bruce Springsteen have been warned about over-sharing on social media.

A handbook written by tour director George Travis and obtained by The Smoking Gun reminds people working for the Boss to “be aware when … posting any tidbit up on your blog or Twitter or Facebook that your complaints of the misunderstanding at the hotel desk or airport service person muckup just gives someone else more fodder for their stories.”

The “Public Awareness/Social Media” section of the guide adds: “Sometimes it’s good therapy to write that note, but maybe hold off on hitting the send!”

According to the tour handbook “there are no complimentary tickets for the show” available to friends.

Travis advises: “We will supply credit card forms so tickets can be paid for in advance.”
