MONCTON – A Moncton children’s charity is at risk of shutting down unless it finds storage space soon.
Last year, Amanda Pooley set out to collect toys for children in need. Her charity has grown to include clothing and books.
“In our first year of operation we helped over 500 children,” she said.
Her charity, now called “What Kids Need Moncton,” helps struggling families that can’t afford to provide toys and clothing for their kids.
Families like Vanessa and Aaron King. The couple are expecting their first child in September, but struggle to make ends meet.
“My husband was laid off and I am getting minimum hours,” King said. “Being directed here to this charity was nothing short of a blessing.”
And Pooley is happy to help, but she’s facing some challenges.
