Man Charged In Lakeview Rape, Robbery

CHICAGO (STMW) — A South Side man has been charged with sexually assaulting and robbing a woman at knifepoint in the Lakeview neighborhood on the North Side on Monday afternoon.

Marcus Lynch, 20, was charged with one count of aggravated criminal sexual assault with a weapon and one count of armed robbery with a dangerous weapon, according to a statement from Chicago Police.

The woman, 22, was walking in the 3500 block of North Halsted Street about 4:15 p.m. when Lynch followed her into an alley and robbed and sexually assaulted her at knifepoint, police said.

She was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in “stable” condition after the assault, police said.

Lynch was arrested after he was identified through surveillance cameras near the scene of the attack, police said.

Lynch, of the 4700 block of South Loomis Boulevard, is scheduled to appear in bond court later Wednesday, according…
