The Boston Marathon bombings claimed the lives of three people, in addition to MIT police officer Sean Collier days later. It was a senseless tragedy that could have done even more damage than it did.
But on the one-year anniversary of the attack that changed the city of Boston forever, it’s time to honor the lives of those lost and celebrate the courage of the many survivors who were maimed or seriously injured in the bombings.
There are also the many runners who were nearing the finish line when the first bomb went off, and are returning to Boston this year to finish the race. The Boston Globe is running a short documentary profiling five of these runners.
