Four homes have been evacuated tonight due to a 20 hectare wildfire near Bridge River, west of Lillooet.
The Wildfire Management Branch says there are 21 firefighters currently battling this blaze, along with two helicopters.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Crews are also battling another substantial wildfire, which started last Thursday. This one is burning about seven kilometres north of Osoyoos on land owned by the Osoyoos Indian Band.
This fire has now grown to 84 hectares, driven by strong winds and dry conditions. It is believed this fire was started by people but who and why still is not known.
The good news is that this fire is not threatening any homes or other buildings.
Crews are also assisting the Lower Nicola Fire Department with a wildfire that is burning 5 km west of Merritt, and there are reports that two outbuildings have been lost.
