BOSTON (CBS) — It sounds like the Red Sox have avoided what could have been their biggest loss of the young season.
Second baseman Dustin Pedroia told The Boston Globe’s Nick Cafardo that he received “great news” on his left wrist, likely meaning Pedroia will avoid a stint on the disabled list.
Pedroia injured his wrist back on April 4, when Milwaukee Brewers center fielder Carlos Gomez slid into him trying to break up a double play. He played through discomfort for over a week before being a scratch from Sunday night’s loss in New York, and returned to Boston on Monday to have the wrist examined by team doctors.
