BOSTON (CBS) — The injuries are starting to pile up for the Red Sox, with Dustin Pedroia back in Boston to have his sore left wrist examined.
The Red Sox second baseman was scratched from Sunday night’s loss in New York, and will be looked at by Boston doctors on Monday. Pedroia suffered the injury last week when he was taken out on a potential double in Boston’s home opener against the Milwaukee Brewers.
“He went down to hit today and the soreness continues to persist, even gain in intensity,” manager John Farrell said of Pedroia’s ailment.
After a hot start, Pedroia is now hitting .236 and is just 5-for-36 since that play at second.
