BOSTON (CBS) — If Boston Bruins fans were dreaming that defenseman Dennis Seidenberg could possibly return to the ice during a deep postseason run, GM Peter Chiarelli just threw a bucket of water on them to snap out of that fantasy.
Seidenberg continues to skate as he recovers from a torn ACL and MCL he suffered back in December and subsequent surgery, but Chiarelli told reporters on Monday they’ll be very cautious with the blue-liner and he doubts he’ll make a return this postseason.
“We’re not counting on Dennis to be back,” Chiarelli said Monday at his pre-playoff press conference. “We’re going to be very cautious with his injury. He has been skating, but that’s all I can say on it. It really hasn’t changed.”
